ALMS FOR THE POOR: Money Matters, pt. 4

In this season of Thanksgiving, it's important to reflect on what God has given us, and what we have to give.  And on that note, did you know there are four levels of giving detailed in the Bible that are commanded of God's people?  We've covered tithing already, and the second level is giving to the poor, which is not a suggestion, but rather a command with a BLESSING for those who obey it, and a curse for those who don't.  Learn in this teaching why you are already wealthy by the standards of the rest of the world, and what God expects of those who have been given much.  

HONORING GOD WITH YOUR MONEY: Money Matters, part. 3

The most basic and fundamental principle in honoring God with our money is the tithe, or giving the first ten percent off the top to one's local place of worship.  This practice has come under fire in recent years by some people who claim that tithing was an Old Testament practice only and passed away under the law and is no longer expected of the New Testament believer.  This teaching will deconstruct that incorrect doctrine and clearly demonstrate how tithing preceded the law, and is therefore a timeless practice.  And this is a GOOD NEWS message, not a bad news one!  Prepare to get excited about tithing!

The book of Isaiah tells us that the Messiah would bring beauty in place of ashes.  While this statement has to do with the remission of sin, it also pertains to bringing beauty in place of the ashes of our relationships.  God can turn our greatest pains into our greatest gains if we respond correctly.  This teaching offers six Biblical principles for overcoming bitterness and unforgiveness, and provides insight for living free of offense.
