WHEN PRIDE TRIES TO HIDE: Greater Grace, pt. 7

Pride and humility are both very misunderstood characteristics.  Sometimes what may look like humility to some people is actually a subtle form of pride.  Pride is not easy to spot because it's insidious and sneaky, but this teaching will help you spot two of its tactics so you can head it off at the pass.  

YOU MIGHT BE PRIDEFUL IF: Greater Grace, pt. 6

Borrowing from the "You might be a redneck if..." concept of listing things that implicate a person, this teaching lists several telltale signs of pride that often go unnoticed by the prideful person, but definitely is noticed by others who have to witness them.  These characteristics of pride will absolutely prevent a person from walking in the greater things of God. However, learning to recognize these tendencies and being proactive in combatting them will position you for greater levels of God's grace and favor, as well as helping to endear you to others.  

SYMPTOMS OF THE MOST DREADED DISEASE: Greater Grace, pt. 4

The disease we should dread the most isn't a physical one, but it's one having to do with an inner condition of the heart.  This disease produces all kinds of different symptoms which are clear outward indications of this condition.  And it's a condition that the Bible says God DETESTS, and which will prevent us from growing in the Lord and reaching our potential in Christ.  Find out in this teaching how to spot this condition, and what to do to overcome its deadly effects.

Many of God's people recorded in Scripture walked through "wilderness experiences" where they were confronted with situations they didn't understand and where God seemed silent.  But these people continued to trust God even when He seemed absent and uninvolved, and they came out on the other side with great victories.  If we respond to these wilderness experiences properly, they will forge in our hearts a profound humility that will put us in position to be greatly used and honored of God.

Our imagination is closely connected to our faith, because we must imagine and visualize what it is we are believing for.  That's why after God promised Abram offspring, He led him outside to gaze at the night sky to see the countless stars and told him, "That's what your offspring is going to be like."  God wanted Abram to have a visual to stimulate his imagination to have something to connect his faith to.  And that's an important principle for our life of faith and exercising our authority in the earth.  This teaching also highlights two other important elements of our authority, which is the power of our words and the power of partnership -- three important principles in all to help bring about the reality for what you are believing God for.
