Proverbs 14:30 says that a heart at peace gives life to the body.  One fundamental principle in learning to live in divine health is deciding to reject toxic emotions and enjoy tranquility.  And part of heart tranquility is learning to forgive and have proper personal boundaries, both of which are learned skills that are elaborated on this teaching.  

Science seems to be always playing catch-up with the Bible.  God has always encouraged His people to cast their cares upon Him and to banish worry and fear.  Now medical science is revealing the devastating consequences of stress and how it can lead to nearly every degenerative disease known to man.  This teaching borrows from the world of science as well as the Bible on why it's so important to learn to deal with the stress in one's life and why it is often a matter of life or death.  The teaching also provides some practical advice on food supplements, the effects of laughter, being involved in community with people, and other tips for healthy living.  

Many people fail to make the connection between their physical and spiritual health, as if they are mutually exclusive.  But without good physical health, we cannot fulfill God's call on our lives.  This teaching shows the spiritual importance of our physical health, and vice versa.  This teaching also highlights some tips in learning how to care for our bodies in a way that glorifies God.  

Stating that the subject of spiritual authority should be expanded even more, guest speaker Tom Passo fills in for Pastor Andy by drawing insights from the account of Moses in the wilderness with the Israelites to show how spiritual authority benefits the body of Christ.  

The Protestant Reformation ushered in an era of renewed freedom from ecclesiastical control and abuse of spiritual authority.  But the Reformation also afforded the enemy of our souls the opportunity to plant subtle seeds of distrust and disdain for authority in the Church.  This has ultimately resulted in a splintering of what used to be one united Church into an entity with more than 30,000 separate denominations.  This teaching goes back to the basics of what the Bible says about spiritual authority in the Church and how that benefits you, and also borrows from the practices of the First Century Church.  

If God's people are to understand the beauty of submission, we must also understand the concept of authority from God's perspective and how His Kingdom is designed to function.  

Continuing with the subject of honoring one another in the home, this teaching dissects the dynamics of 1 Peter 3:1-7, and in doing so also deals with the difficulties of different kinds of personalities and how they are to relate to one another in the marriage setting.  

Continuing with the subject of submission means that we have to grapple with the politically incorrect subject of hierarchy in the home and how that looks from a Biblical perspective. Since 60% of marriages now end in divorce, and the larger percentage of the ones that stay together are not happy, we definitely have something to learn from the Scriptures on the subject of marriage and honor in the home.  

While the birth of Jesus is certainly worth celebrating, the truth is that His life and ministry wasn't about the manger.  That was just the starting place.  This teaching elaborates on what His real mission was, and how we can really know that Jesus is indeed "Immanuel": God with us.  

In today's society the sacred role of parenting is minimized and mocked.  But God takes the issue of respect for parental authority about as seriously as any subject in the entire Bible.  Find out why and just how seriously in this teaching by Pastor Andy.
