AMDASSADORS: The Remnant pt. 3

Second Corinthians 5 tells us God is making His appeal to the world through you and me, that we are His ambassadors, and that we each have been given the ministry of reconciliation.  It falls to each Christ follower, then, to be a person who is involved in God's search and rescue mission of the lost, just as each of us was once lost but were found with the help of someone else's efforts.  While the subject of evangelism is uncomfortable for a lot of people, this teaching provides several tips that may help to make it less intimidating and more effective.  

THE HAPPINESS PARADOX: The Remnant, pt. 2

The Bible teaches that the only way to find true life is to lay yours down and take up your cross to follow Christ.  Therefore, happiness and fulfillment in life is a paradox.  It doesn't come by seeking to get your own needs met and desires fulfilled all the time.  This teaching explores the narrow way Jesus described in Matthew 7, and what it means to take up your cross to follow Him, and the glorious results of a life laid down.  

THE REMNANT

Did you know that that Romans 9:27 says that only a "remnant" of Israel will be saved?  And unlike the popular idea that most people will make it to heaven, Jesus taught that the masses will go to their destruction on a broad road, while only a minority of people will be saved as they travel through a narrow gate.  This teaching provides the characteristics of remnant people.  And at the end of Pastor Andy's teaching, there are several people who give testimonies of what God has done for them through the ministry of BLF.

SACRED COW ALERT!  Did you know there's not a single scripture in the New Testament that refers to God's people as sinners?  One reason why Christians continue to struggle with sin is because they identify more with being a sinner rather than a saint.  Yet "saint" is how the Bible refers to God's people.  And when we can develop an inner image of ourselves as saints, we will more often than not find our behavior following suit.

Any good parent will instruct their children and tell them WHY to not do this or that.  God is the same way.  He does say, "Be holy, for I am holy," but He doesn't leave it at that.  He also gives us reasons why a life of holiness is a blessed life to help keep us on track and inspired.
